Earthrise Studio
work with Alice Aedy and Chloe Puttock

Earthrise is a climate storytelling studio celebrating the power of human nature.
By harnessing multimedia storytelling, Earthrise has been seeding partnerships and initiatives that support filmmakers, creatives, and storytellers from the Earthrise community in creating short, high-impact films and content around its guiding vision, Human Nature. Over the past year, I have been working with the team bringing this ethos and some of its different projects to life.

Planet Health Stories, by Earthrise x Bupa

'Planet Health Stories' is a partnership between Earthrise Studio and Bupa exploring the intersection of personal and planetary health. It brought together filmmakers from Earthrise's community to produce 12 films across six countries, each telling a personal and planetary health story through the following themes: access to nature, mental health, food, air pollution, movement, and community.

While the campaign design was familiar territory, this project gave me the chance to explore film title design for the first time, something I had long wanted to try and look forward to do more.

The project was celebrated in a Planet Health Stories screening and dinner in London, co-hosted by Alice Aedy and James Norton, with keynote moments from Sophie Darlington ASC, Colin Butfield, Liz Bonnin and Louis VI.

The collaboration was also featured on National Geographic.

Mother Nature

Mother Nature is a series from Earthrise spotlighting women on the frontlines of climate and environmental justice around the world.

In this series I wanted to celebrate fluidity and colour, weaving in hand-lettered type throughout.

‘Yachapa: Echo of the Andes’ film

Yachapa, is a short film, inspired by and starring Nathalie Kelley.
Shot on 16mm film in the Sacred Valley of Peru, the camera lingers on the hands of Quechua weavers and alpaquero families whose ancestral knowledge has been passed down for generations.

The still footage for the posters was beautiful and textured, so the handwritten type echoed the personal, human presence at the heart of the film.
